Kampfgeschwader 4 (KG4) is an online squadron focusing on flying the He-111 in the IL-2 series.

KG4 is a bomber focused squadron for the IL2 Sturmovik series of combat flight simulation games for the PC.
KG4 is named after the Luftwaffe unit that flew the He-111 in WW2, serving in the Eastern, Western and Middle East theatres. Although we are named after a German unit we do not consider ourselves to be a 'blue only' force. As more aircraft types are developed in the IL-2 series we will be extending operations to include them but at present the He-111 offers the best simulation platform for us to fly.
The main focus is flying co-op level bombing missions in the He-111but pilots are encouraged to fly other types too (variety keeps things interesting after all). IL-2 offers a range of aircraft to fly and sometimes a low level transport flight or an energetic dog fight is what's needed to unwind after a days work! However, the majority of KG4 online flights will be in the He-111.
The aim is to be mission focused and 'play the objective' in online servers such as Tactical Air War or Random Expert. KG4 will always seek to fly in a professional manner but promises not to take itself too seriously, we want our pilots to fly in a relaxed adult environment. This is supposed to be fun after all.
We realise that people also have a real life and family & work must come first. To that end KG4 is not initially planning on having a regular squad night but rather to fly on the excellent servers such as TAW & RE as mentioned above. Pilots are encouraged to fly together whenever possible.
Finally, in an adult environment the language can be bit colourful. Banter is encouraged but excessive swearing is not. After all, people do have children around.
